About Gail
In 1993, the Abyss imprint of Doubleday/Dell published Gail Petersen’s first novel, The Making of a Monster, a vampire story of horror, love, humanity and redemption which some critics labeled “better than Anne Rice.” Gail made numerous book signing appearances and spoke at the 1993 World Horror Convention. She is currently a member of The International Thriller Writers and The Horror Writers Association.
Gail has been a writer all her life and her talents rest not only in fiction, but music as well. Gail has been a major-label recording artist on MCA Records as the writer/lead vocalist/founder of the cult rock band The Catholic Girls and she and her band have recorded 7 CDs, appeared on MTV and other channels on TV and radio in the U.S., Australia, Japan and other countries, completed two national tours, and opened for bands including The Ramones, REM, Tom Petty and The Kinks. Recently, they were featured on Sirius Satellite Radio as well as Little Steven’s Underground Garage where he declared one of Gail’s songs to be one of “the coolest songs in the world”. The Catholic Girls’ newest CD, Somebody Better Get a Room, released on Cinema Records in 2017, enjoys current airplay on radio and digital formats in the U.S. and other countries. Gail’s music was additionally featured in the New Jersey Rocks Exhibit at The Morristown Museum. Gail has just completed a new novel, The Last Hitchcock, a contemporary detective story with a first person woman’s POV - a woman on a journey to regain the life she left behind in a controlling marriage. The story unites two partners, a male and a female, in a chilling search for a lost film that no one has proven actually exists. A film plagued by disaster, death, secrets and lies that has never been found or even viewed. A film rumored to be the hidden final masterpiece created by Alfred Hitchcock. The setting is Los Angeles, the city of angels, myths and legends.
